Eat• Healthy • Together
The Real Greek the popular London Restaurant Group are finally sharing their trade mark dishes in this wonderful Cookbook. They reveal the recipes of some the dishes from their delicious menu!! Tonia Buxton the food writer, nutritionist, gourmet cook, presenter of My Greek Kitchen and My Cypriot Kitchen is also the consultant chef and the face of The Real Greek Restaurants. They have joined forces and created this corker of a Cookbook. This brilliant Cookbook embodies the epitome of Greek Culture. It offers recipes that inspire the sharing of these dishes, indicative of the lifestyle… hence the brilliant sub-title “eat healthy together”. The Real Greek and Tonia have a passion for food, family and life! The cooking, sharing, the taking time, the ethos that food is not just for fuel, but a way of bringing people together. Cooking with healthy fresh produce. Food the whole family can enjoy!
The Greek diet is inspired by many different cultures that now shape modern Greece. The dishes in The Real Greek Cookbook are reflective of that. The book cover’s maze’s, starters, mains, deserts, sides and salads, plus garnish, sauces and even drinks! There’s something for every palette and occasion… from prawns with feta, split pea lava, dolmades, grilled calamari, slow roasted pork belly, red mullet parcels, stuffed cabbage leaves and much much more…There is also a chapter called “Chef’s Specials” with various contributors offering up one of their favourite recipes, some of which were passed down through the family.
…” you too, can produce restaurant quality food in your own home…”
We at Those London Chicks are huge fans of our fantastic food contributor Tonia Buxton. Alot of you may be familiar with her wonderful recipes already, if not see some here. Traditional Greek food with a modern twist!! The same can be said for the dishes in this book.
I had a chance to sample some of the gorgeous mouthwatering delights from the book at it’s launch. All I can say is ….YUM! With easy to follow instructions you too, can produce restaurant quality food in your own home. I’ve already made the delicious Humous from the recipe in the book. Super simple to make, I will NEVER buy it from a super market again!! The book comes with a hard cover, call me old fashioned but I love this. It’s practical and hard wearing…as I’m sure, if you purchase it, it will be well used. This will be one of my firm favourite food references for years to come, not only for dinner parties or gatherings, but everyday use. I’m really looking forward to trying more of the recipes as I have always enjoyed Greek food. There is a freshness about the cuisine, an honouring of the ingredients. Food packed full of flavour. I won’t lie, I’m looking forward to impressing my friends and family too!

- Now scatter on the oregano and olives, drizzle on the remaining lemon juice and olive oil and season to taste with some more freshly ground black pepper.
