Former Chicago Tribune reporter, Kim Barker’s 2011 wartime memoir entitled “The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days in Afghanistan and Pakistan” depicts her experiences covering conflicts in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Full of dark humour, it also highlights the challenges that come with being a woman in wartime Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The film stars Tina Fey, Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman. So if you’re a fan of Tina Fey, this is one you’ll definitely want to watch!

Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan

Brain on Fire details New York Post journalist Susannah Cahalan’s sudden decline into an unfathomable illness like insanity.
Directed by Gerard Barrett, the film will star Chloe Moretz (The 5th Wave), Richard Armitage (The Hobbit) and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix). The release date is unknown at time of writing.
An interesting film that will likely raise awareness of different types of mental illness, helping to end the stigma surrounding them.
The Zookeepers Wife by Diane Ackerman

The Zookeeper’s Wife recounts the true story of the keepers of the Warsaw Zoo, Jan and Antonina Zabinski, who helped save hundreds of animals and Jewish people during the WWII Nazi Invasion. It has previously spent 54 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list.
The film will star Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Daniel Brühl (Rush) and Iddo Goldberg (Peaky Blinders). The date of release is currently unknown.
A heartbreakingly beautiful film that will appeal to most.
