In the Book • Personalised Children’s Books.

It was coming to that time of year again, my cousin’s birthday. This year, I found myself in a bit of a stump at what to get a two-year-old. I do try and get thoughtful gifts. Last year, the gifts were obvious choices. I bought him his first pair of shoes, a London jacket and for Christmas an ornament saying, ‘Baby’s First Christmas’. In the back of my mind, I was wondering how I could out do that this year. She would keep that ornament forever!

Luckily, I found ‘In the Book’ a simple but brilliant idea. With the selling point ‘A personalised storybook as unique as your child’, I knew I was onto a winner. I decided upon ‘My Book of Nursery Rhymes’, largely due to the positive testimonials and age group I was giving the book to. However, Signature Publishing creates personalised books for every age group and has partnerships with different brands. In Disney versions like ‘Captain America’, the child watches the story pan out, while the Signature Publishing books make the child the leading character e.g. ‘Phoebe’s Unicorn Adventure’.

When ordering, the customer gives a name and a short message to appear in the book. In this case the cover reads:

‘My Book of Nursery Rhymes

Nursery Rhymes for Liam’.

Then the child’s name that was entered appears throughout the book in the different images with the idea that the child will try and spot their name throughout. You can also add a photograph of your choosing at the back of the book.

I am delighted with the book and it is something that my family will keep forever. It has beautifully illustrated all of the traditional nursery rhymes such as Little Miss Muffet, Incy Wincy Spider, Polly Put the Kettle On, Row Your Boat, Sing a Song of Sixpence, It’s Raining, It’s Pouring, The Grand Old Duke of York, Goosey Goosey Gander, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and many more. The illustrations are adorable, and it arrives well packaged. If you want to avoid the obvious present, whether it be for a wedding anniversary, a birthday or the novelty of having a personalised book for you or your child check out the Signature Books website where they have a wide range of options available for all age groups.
