Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe

“Pumpkin pie spice? What’s that?” this London Chicks said as I flicked through recipes seeing it crop up again and again. Is this some new fandangled spice? NO. No it is not. It is basically several of our favourite autumnal spices that someone has cleverly re marketed as pumpkin pie spice. It is simple yet so blissfully perfect that when added (in my case pretty much everything) to a recipe it enhances it delightfully. So go forth this week in honour of Thanks Giving and give this Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe a go!

My only issue was finding big enough bags of the ingredients to make the recipes I was finding on the internet so I had to try and make do and make it on a smaller scale. No Kilner round clip top 1 litre jar for me for like a mini me squat 0.125. I actually found the wilkinson one in the picture below fitted my ingredients perfectly.

Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe

  • 12 tsp Ground Cinnamon

  • 4.5 tsp Ground Nutmeg

  • 3.5 tsp Ground Ginger

  • 1 tbs Mixed Spice

Put all the spices into a mixing bowl and stir until fully mixed. I used heaped teaspoons. However you judge your spoonful I’m sure it will be fine. These measurements are completely changeable to your own tastes. My thought is that the one rule is that cinnamon is the overall taste provider. So run amock with the recipe and get blending spices to make your own Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe.

I have become incredibly addicted to my mix and have been adding it to my smoothie pretty much every single day. Below is a simple but yummy recipe to trial your Pumpkin Pie Spice mix..
