The Weak Ones • Strindberg Triple Bill
The Weak Ones consists of three one-act plays set against the backdrop of everyday life in nineteenth-century Sweden:
Motherly Love – An actress and her overbearing mother spend their summer holiday in the Stockholm Archipelago. The daughter is making friends for the first time, but can she face leaving her mother behind?
The Stronger – Two actresses meet at a café on Christmas Eve.
Facing Death – An hotel proprietor with three daughters to provide for stands on the brink of bankruptcy.
We follow three families, their stories and their secrets, which could only have been told within their own four walls… In three one-act plays we are drawn into the world in which August Strindberg’s work was created, along with the people who inhabited it.
Swedish culture at its height with folk tunes and wild midsummer night dances under the midnight sun.
